As we’re approaching the 1 Year Gribook Anniversary, there are a few THANK YOUs (yes – big, huge, massive thanks) to say to a wonderful few.
No bookworm is an island. So, this one is for the people who’ve been generously supporting my reading habits – by being an inspiration, by providing me with books, or by engaging in books-related activities and discussions.
On July 9th, it will be one year since Gribook.me was launched. Perhaps this is a rite of passage for bloggers, but I find I’m asking myself some serious questions.
I will spare you of all my self interviews – the bottom line question is this:
Am I making a difference by writing this blog?
As human beings, we ask ourselves billions of question. Few of those question are truly important ones – because their answers will determine the course of the rest of our lives. One such question is this:
Do I need a Book Sleeve?
In my humble opinion, the answer is a resounding YES!
There are at least 3 good reasons:
I never exactly made a book. It’s rather like taking dictation. I was given things to say.
C. S. Lewis
If I’d ever have to pick one author, and read his books only for the rest of my life – C. S. Lewis would be my choice.
The creator of Narnia, C. S. Lewis wrote fascinating novels (Till We Have Faces, The Space Thrilogy, etc.), as well as compelling books on spirituality and apologetics (The Four Loves, The Great Divorce, The Problem of Pain, etc.).
If you want to read a C. S. Lewis book, I recommend you start with Mere Christianity. It won’t leave you unchanged.
Here are 15 of my favourite snippets of C.S. Lewis’ wisdom, to inspire you.
